Advice on how to set up a temporary kitchen

Oh, also - during the work our builders sealed up two doorways to the work area by covering the entire doorway with big sheets of OSB screwed right into the wall. This worked well for keeping the mess contained, and also helped keep the house secure while the work area was without walls!2

I've had another thought. If you're setting up camp in the bathroom, flush the loo every now and then so the pipes don't dry out.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1

We've abandoned the bathroom idea. The fridge/ freezer is one from the old kitchen and is large (american style) and so will be downstairs. The idea of taking food up and downstairs risks spills.
I have bought a mini oven (it arrived smaller than expected, I could cook one piece of chicken or a slice of pizza in it), a 2 ring hob and I have my microwave.
I have plastic sheeting, that is designed to cover tables, hanging from the cornice to protect the walls. Dry food is in plastic and cardboard boxes. Dishes are stacked on old shoe racks on the large dining table that is pushed against a wall. The old smaller kitchen table is in position as the table to eat from. Washing up bowls at the ready to take dirty dishes up to the bathroom where we have a small table set up to wash and dry dishes using the shower hose to fill the bowls.
On the other hand no-one has bought the old kitchen. I will keep the range in the garage in case anyone buys it. Builders are going to try and set the washing machine up in the garage, the dryer is a condenser so that will work anywhere.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I don't think you've mentioned how long the works will take, but if it's gonna be a long ol' poke then I'd see if a couple of the builders would get the f/f up the stairs for you. Presuming that's the main motivation for abandoning the bathroom idea. And presuming that it'd wiggle round corners etc.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.0

We are set up. It is working fine so far, except the dust is everywhere - even with doors closed it spreads.
Mini kitchen in the dining room and one trip a day to wash dishes upstairs, plus a few trips to collect a jug of clean water for the kettle.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
