Mobile park - Landlord pays business rate of 0.4306
I moved into a park home 5 years ago this year in Feb I paid 0.18 per unit then in April & Sept 0.4306. Having spoken to the landlord he is paying business rates to British Gas - and then forwarding the bill on to the 100+ homes?? He says that in January he signed a new contract with British Gas and it was the cheapest around? Is this all correct? Other Park homes in the area pay .18 a unit and .25 a unit......Our bill is £391 and increase of 165% Any help gratefully received?

There is no guarantee or law that says the landlord has to get the best deal for you. The deal is what it is and as long as they are not profiteering it is all legal. Sadly0

You probably have to trust that they did indeed test the market and took the best available contract - they'd have no reason to do anything other than that.
The Park Operator is usually not allowed to sell on the electricity to make a profit so, if the rate you are being charged is the rate that the Park Operator is paying, there is probably nothing that can be done about it.
The other Parks in the area might well be on the lower tariffs because contract renewals have not come around yet and their rates will jump as and when the cycle rolls.0 -

Other Park homes in the area pay .18 a unit and .25 a unit......Our bill is £391 and increase of 165% Any help gratefully received?I can only assume we are talking about electric based on the c43p now - as you don't really make that clear.In Feb 23 - whilst you were still paying 18p - normal domestic customers - not on a fix were paying c33p +/- regional variations /kWh for single rate electric - and that was after a c33p EPG discount applied by suppliers.So without that govt EPG payment - normal consumers would have been paying 67p on Ofgem's evaluation basis - from Jan - Mar.0
