ESTA for US

I have just obtained an ESTA which I know is normally valid for 2 years.  However, my passport runs out 24/4, therefore my ESTA is valid until the same date.  I will have to renew my passport as we are travelling to the US/Caribbean in April 24.  Do I need to apply for a new ESTA or would I be able to bring my old passport with me?

You'll need to apply for a new ESTA once you have your new passport.

You will need to apply for and be approved for a new ESTA in this case.

An expired passport will not be valid for entry to the US.

You will not need to apply for and be approved for a new ESTA in this case.
That's not my understanding, hence my earlier post - was that 'not' a typo for 'now' perhaps?

I was about to edit that (and now have).

    Autocorrect error on my phone,

A new ESTA WILL be required.

New ESTA required I'm afraid. Don't leave it to the last minute either as you could (unlikely) be refused and need to go through the visa process.

It would be sensible but it will mean losing a good few months on their new 10 year passport and realistically, with the claimed 110 day wait for an appointment at the US Embassy for a non-immigration visa that they'd need to be renewing their passport next month.
