Best mortgage lender for me?

Hello everyone,

so I need to remortgage on a buy to let, I have NO CCJ’s or defaults on my credit report, however 2 years ago I had some arrears on an unsecured loan that went along side my mortgage. These have been cleared and are and have been completely up to date for the last 2 years.

I haven’t missed any payments since however a year ago my direct debit for some insurance was incorrectly set up and I was late on 1 payment for one month, but cleared this off immediately.

Besides the late payments on my credit history mentioned above, I have no other issues with my credit history and am in the “fair” credit score bracket.

could anyone recommend who the best most likely lenders would be to approve a remortgage, whom would be okay with my credit history ?

thank you in advance

  • The best advice here is to go to the mortgage section of the forum and use one of the well respected mortgage brokers there or a recommendation from a friend locally.

I'm sure I had an eligibility check before making the full application with Santander. Any that offer an eligibility check would be good as it reduces the risk of a full application (and hard search) getting rejected. The 'credit score' is meaningless, lenders have their own ways of scoring and only use services like experian to check the history. You do seem to a candidate for a good broker - be upfront on everything and see what mortgages they recommend.
