Transfer funds from France to UK

I need to transfer 50,000 pounds from my French bank account to a UK account. To get the best exchange rate, is it best to ask my French bank to send it in pounds or euros? - or maybe use currency transfer company? I do not need to move the money straight away. Is there a way of delaying the transfer until the rate is best?

I would send it as euros to a Wise euro account. You can then pick your moment to convert to sterling. Another option is HSBC’s Global Money account but IIRC if you send foreign currency to it it will be converted directly to sterling. Both Wise and HSBC offer good rates but obviously HSBC has the advantage of being a big name bank with all the protections you’d expect.AdeHP said:I need to transfer 50,000 pounds from my French bank account to a UK account.
