Black mold behind the washing machine
Comments

The plumber is coming next week - I will mention it to him. Miele delivery service was not able to connect the washing machine (because the previous owner left the waste water pipe and they didn't have any tools to disconnect it), so everything is easy accessible and on display for the time being.Gavin83 said:
Yep they should be. The waste pipe should be fitted so a part of it is higher than the sink.kipsterno1 said:This wouldn't affect the black mold but shouldn't the waste pipes from the dishwasher and washer be fed in higher than they are?

This - I've always sloped the roof of my log store forwards (and the ones I've bought rather than made have done the same). I also second the gap, which will be easy if it has a back. It should help keep the moisture content of the logs down too.FreeBear said:
Pull the wood store a good foot or two away from the wall. Better still, modify the roof so that it slopes the other way (and I'd still leave a ~300mm gap).Emily_Joy said:I think I figured out the reason for the mold: all water that comes on the top of the wood shed is just poured into the wall. Now I need to find a solution...0 -
That really is something. The wall will probably take some months to dry out, so be prepared to haul the two machines out and demould again in around 6 months after fixing that log store.Emily_Joy said:I think I figured out the reason for the mold: all water that comes on the top of the wood shed is just poured into the wall. Rule of thumb is 25mm per month, so for a solid brick wall (which is what Emily_Joy appears to have) you are looking at 9-10 months. Say a year to be on the safe side.JohnB47 said: The wall will probably take some months to dry out, so be prepared to haul the two machines out and demould again in around 6 months after fixing that log store.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
