Amazon: Returned item does not match purchased item?

So not sure what to do about this. I bought a Garmin watch for £300 on monthly payments. Should have bought the S small version so returned the item, after few days no refund so contacted them who told me could take up to 2 weeks, 2 weeks came and went still no refund contacted again, refunds can take up to 30 days, after 3 weeks of nothing I became impatient and found the ceo office email.
Emailed them who replied a few hours later saying the returned item does not match purchased item?? Im not sure what sort of funny business has gone on here, it was the item i received that I returned. There’s something dodgy going on here, month or so previously I purchased same Watch and received the box cable and manual no watch, they refunded straight away in that case.
im thinking about contacting Barclay card and see what they can do? As I say it was taken out using monthly payments, 2 paid another 2 or 3 to go I think.

Are they continuing to investigate? The bit I've bolded is what's causing them to be suspicious. You've now had two problems in as many months. From their point of view, it looks like a customer stealing two watches, and whether an automated or human process, I suspect they've called a halt to things, or are even in the process of freezing or closing your account.n1guy said:So not sure what to do about this. Yes, you could try your payment provider. Are the monthly payments through Barclaycard, or some other finance provider?0 -
