Non-breathable Membrane Flat roof

I saw the above at £19.99. If I use that on a flat roof, using bitumen adhesive to stick down, should the edges be airtight? I've used this type of adhesive in the past and found that I could never get edges to stick down (can't remember what type of membrane I used in the past) so used flash-band at edges. Hope someone can help with this query.
It's just a quick fix to get it through winter as I'll get it done properly in summer.
