Airport drinks

I know you can get free drinking water by taking an empty bottle through to departures…..but has anyone tried getting free boiling water from a cafe in departures (Stansted Airport) to make own tea…..or is this taking being frugal too far 🤣
I’m just thinking airport prices are really high and I’vecgot unexpected cost of taxi to airport with train and tube strikes so trying to cut back where I can 😊

Why just ask, but maybe say its t warm babies food, rather than brew your own tea, which I guess they sell. So may actually charge you in the 2nd case.Life in the slow lane0

I don't know if there's a Weatherspoons at Stansted but if there is you might be able to get some hot water from the hot drinks machine as long as you've got a cup which will fit under the tap.0

Expecting someone to provide you with free hot water at their expense isn't being frugalVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later1 -
I'd be surprised if it was free, but it could still be cheaper, you could call and ask?Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

I’d be parking myself in Wetherspoons, buying one cup of tea and then having free refills till it’s time to go.About £1.50 for a cuppa probably isn’t going to break the bank. Or if it well, then just stick to the free water. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

And getting a table isn't the easiest thing to do either.1 -

Used the Birmingham one a couple of weeks ago. The tea and coffee weren’t expensive and there were lots of seats.Maybe it depends when you travel for seating, but the OP was only talking about drinks, not food. So their free refills are good value if you are there for a while..All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I didn't mention food.
Getting a table whether for food and drink or just drink is the same.
We've flown from BHX mostly early morning 3 times this year and the 'spoons has been rammed.
I wouldn't want to be s simple traveller doing drink refills in such a busy plane.

Ive never not seen Spoons rammed leaving either of Gatwick's terminals either. Who books a flight/holiday but is too tight to stump up for a cup of tea? The mind boggles.
Not only will some travellers have scrimped and saved to manage a basic foreign holiday, some will be travelling for emergency work/family reasons. Just because you booked travel doesn't mean you can waste moneyMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.
