Octopus Energy change to bills

You could ask Octopus, it may be something to do with the change I'm the price cap, it may be entirely operational.lindylootoo said:Why have Octopus suddenly change their monthly bills to two-monthly bills? The invoice for August was billed in the 'normal' monthly way all of their previous bills but this month the invoices are for August AND September. WHY? Have they jumped on the 'Lets confuse the customers' wagon?
I would suggest that is a huge overreaction to something which causes little to no inconvenience.lindylootoo said:It's not just irritating, it's pathetic!1 -
I have just given Octopus my new readings and out of interest checked my bills
I don't have a 2 month bill for September/August just the usual 1 month

If I want a bill from Octopus I just send in a meter reading. I get my bill same or next day.Always been this way and I haven't noticed any change.Never had an "Estimated" bill as I always send readings on first day of every month. You don't say if you have a dumb or a smart meter. I don't know how Octopus bill for working smart meters. Mine is dumb.0

Look at the reading dates. They won't have billed you twice for August. How many days in total does the standing charge cover for each fuel?

It is not worth losing any heartbeats over. If you call CS tomorrow, they will be able to raise a manual bill. Smart meter bills get delayed because of corrupt or missing 30 minute data which Octopus has to retrieve manually. If you are still unhappy, then just ‘ditch and switch’. From what I read on this forum, you might regret doing so.lindylootoo said:Why have Octopus suddenly change their monthly bills to two-monthly bills? Last year Octopus changed my billing date from the 14th to the 20th. I realised this was because I'd changed tariffs on the 20th and they billed me a month on from the switch. Could it be something similar for you?
As previously mentioned, submit readings whenever you want and a bill will be produced or just give them a ring and ask for a bill. Not worth getting your knickers in a twist when there are very simple solutions.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

My account has one for July to Sept & 4 Sept to Sept
Pretty good given I did not actually transfer in till 2 Aug. Well I guess it's because I started process in July.
Then switched tariff on 7 Sept.
makes sense when you look at the bills, rather than the page in your account 👍Life in the slow lane0 -
I have a smart meter, my Octopus energy statements move slightly from 26 - 29 of each month, which I guess depends when weekends fall.As a result the most recent one (27th Aug. 2023 - 28th Sept. 2023) includes two direct debits (29th Aug. 2023 + 26th Sept. 2023).Does this resemble what you mean? Before I had a Smart meter, I got a bill whenever I entered a meter reading, so if I read and entered a reading fortnightly (I was trying to read frequently for a while), I was billed fortnightly.

The billing date coincides with when you start a new tariff. My DD and billing date used to coincide at the beginning of the month. I then changed to Agile in the middle of the month and my billing date coincides with that. When you actually get notification of a new statement does seem to vary a bit but the dates billed for remain the same.

Six years on, I can assure that it doesn’t. My billing date is the 27th (midnight). I changed tariffs early last month from Flux to IO import and Fixed Outgoing. Yes, a statement was raised then but I now have my normal statement for the 27th.Netexporter said:I have a smart meter, my Octopus energy statements move slightly from 26 - 29 of each month, which I guess depends when weekends fall. The billing date coincides with when you start a new tariff.
