Hi
weve recently purchased a bungalow and it comes complete with an envirovent system in the loft. Unsure of the benefits at this stage but one huge downside is a vent into the hallway (think larger than a tumble dryer vent hose) blowing cold air into the hall.

No paperwork but I rang envirovent to find more info but they didn’t install it themselves.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks

its called a Positive Input Ventilation system (PIV), and it will pressurise the house by forcing air into it from the loft, so as soon as windows are doors are opened it creates air movement and can help stop damp/condensation problems.
if it's been installed it likely means there was such a problem beforehand so I wouldn't remove it just yet0 -
There should be a heater on the unit, but it can be switched off if the previous owners wanted to do so.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Not cheap, but it will recover most of the heat from outgoing air and use it to warm the incoming. So running costs should be lower.
