One other thing I forgot. GPS is useful for proving your speed, if the other driver or the police falsely accuse you of speeding.
    Or may implicate you...
True, but by that point you are screwed anyway because the police are prosecuting you based on their speed trap evidence. They will never demand your SD card on the off chance it contains the evidence they need, they will always have their own measurement equipment.

Besides they regularly argue (falsely) that dashcam evidence is unreliable as it isn't properly calibrated (GPS is designed specifically so that the receiver doesn't need calibrating) etc. so it would be quite the admission from them if they tried it.

A valid point which may make you evaluate your own driving and drive more sensibly as a result (the dashcam in general though, not only if it has GPS).

Although watching YouTube videos, having a dashcam seems to make people drive more recklessly to make a point, speeding up to roundabouts for example.

Sadly it is clearly true there are those who use them to show off their bad driving, and others that post clips erroneously blaming the other party, but if ones intention is avoidance of blame in case of an accident knowing the situation is being recorded should improve the driving.

Well I got one on Ebay for just £5 not high spec but works well Orskey and was cheap as the seller did not have the cables, fitting kit etc.  But I had them from my old one and they are compatable.
So thatns for all the comments but I think my purchase was the best MSE one.
