Light is gradually coming back so I am also thinking about rousing myself properly. Coffee does help.Yesterday I had a calm day whilst the wind raged outside. The torrential rain stopped mid-morning but I didn't go out. I amused myself by fiddling with spreadsheets and moving money around for the start of the month. In between bouts of sitting I did some stretching and exercising to keep on strengthening my dodgy hips. For part of my lunch I had a pouch of riced cauliflower which had been lurking for too long at the back of a cupboard. It was incredibly bland so added various veggies and flavourings to make it palatable. I had lasagna too which helped.Today I think I'll visit friends who live two lochs up the coast, I haven't seen then for a while.I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Strictly Saturday to all.10

Good morning and thanks for the start @Gers x Enjoy your visit to your pals.
@IzzyBee I had the pleasure of visiting Sycamore Gap when I walked Hadrian's Wall with DSis back in 2019. Such senseless vandalism. I heard an article on R4 last night about a company that can transplant mature trees and they'd been approached - cost of £100k though!
I am off to FC this morning. Have been hovering just above my target weight for a few weeks so was determined to get back to it this week. Feta cheese and figs have helped! I am going to the cinema at lunchtime to see Hocus Pocus - it's an old film but one I missed first time around. Haven't used my limitless pass since end of August so need to rectify that. DH away in Wales camping and DD going out with a friend, so the day is my own. I'm at a quiz night later with DSis in aid of the RSPCA.
Hope all the poorlies are doing better this morning x
Have a good day all

Morning allOur new integrated fridge freezer was due to arrive between 9 and 1 today. Sitting in my jim jams having breakfast when the phone goes at 7.20. "We'll be there in 10 minutes, we're running early this morning". Frantically emptying the fridge (had done the freezer yesterday). I vanished upstairs while DH dealt with the men installing it. Half an hour later it's all done!!! That's service for you. Although I must have frightened the delivery man with my bed hair standing on end!!That's my excitement for today,Take care all x10

Morning all
I'm up and having breakfast before doing the final food preparations for our family lunch. It's only six of us plus a 5 yr old but I seem to have bought far too much food - as you do! Our son is bringing his girlfriend here for the first time so I don't want to mess up too much
Other than that the dishwasher had yet another new part yesterday but I'm still not convinced it's fixed so that is stressing me out.
Will love you and leave you for now.11 -
Morning All
It's a dull morning but not raining or windy. Washing will have to stay inside, will save the white wash until tomorrow. Bathrooms cleaned and the kitchen table tidied - it always seems to have all the stuff on that I'm not sure what to do with!
Work was incredibly busy yesterday - a week's worth of jobs to do in one day. Still, the day passed quickly but had to get DD to pick me up and take me to the car garage, some things stopped working so it needs a new electrical bit next week. The mechanic has got things working again for now but not sure for how long so will try not to use it too much.
Enjoy your trip to the cinema and quiz night Coxy.
It'll be nice to catch up with your friends Gers.
Great service Chrisca - it was the same when I got a new WM a few weeks ago, all done in 20 mins.
Happy Birthday flamingo, have a great day.
Hugs to the poorlies, hope you're on the mend.
Not sure what's happening today, will meet up with DD and the little one later so may just do some shopping this morning.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Enjoy your visit to your friends.
Today will be a day of bittersweet memories for me. As it would have been our 51st wedding anniversary today in a kinder life.
I am still feeling very weak and weary and getting fed up now. I have forced myself to sort out the washing basket which has been untouched all week. I feel like a slattern but I don't care. A dark wash is now on the go to be followed by a small light wash. It will go upstairs on the airer as I can't face the trek outside to the line. . A shame really as it's currently nice and sunny, though heavy rain is due this afternoon. My head still feels stuffed with cotton wool so I don't trust myself with the end of month banking. That can wait a day or two.
Have a nice day folks if you can and sorry for the endless moaning. Happy Birthday Flamingo. Take care all and be safe xx

Good morning, it's quite a nice morning here.
Yesterday was lovely, sunny and breezy.
Chrisca, your bed hair have me a smile, I'm sitting here now looking as if I've been plugged into the mains!
Hope your family day goes well W Lady.
Camelot, hope your car repair is not too costly.
Enjoy your visit to friends Gers.
I've got no plans, I'll see what presents itself and hope it's something nice. The Go North East bus Service is on strike for nearly a week, so won't be bussing. anywhere.
Thinking of our poorlies, and hope everyone has a good day. Take care folks.

Morning all, it's a bit grey & misty today. We don't have DGS football this morning so I have time to post,2 boys injured, 1 poorly and 1 leaving so they don't have enough to make the team up. I went to town yesterday to get a card and little pressie for the boy who is leaving, probably won't get to see him now as he lives in the next townDH has taken the opportunity to pop to work for an hour, we'll see how long the 'hour' actually isIt's a friends birthday tomorrow,& I made a card so will need to take that at some point - I tried getting some stamps with my sm delivery, none in stock. I've been making some Xm.s cards in the evening watching tv, they're mounting up now. The card making supplies I re-ordered are due to be delivered today by the postie, then last night I had an email saying the Click & collect order that didn't turn up/ then cancelled by the supervisor/refunded the money is apparently waiting at the store now- hope I've not been charged again!not sure about tea tonight.TA hugs on what should have been a special day. Hope you feel better soon.Flamingo- hope you have a lovely birthday! Not much else going on so hope you have a pleasant day, take care !:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
