New driver insurance

My daughter (age 26) is due to take her test on Wednesday and has her own Aygo. Yesterday she  obtained some quotes which vary from £2700 with Adrian Flux to £1251 with Direct Line for a policy to commence on Wednesday (we are also insured through them so discounts of some kind have been applied).  I was wondering it might be worth giving Direct Line a call so see if she can negotiate the premium any more, but not sure if she should try and do this now or wait until she has passed her test (fingers crossed) on Wednesday when she will definitely want to take out a policy.  Not holding out a lot of hope but even a few £`s saving would be great, just unsure as to when might be the best time to contact them.  Thank you

To be honest 1251 doesn't sound that bad.

I didn`t think it was too scary compared to some really silly quotes she has had, was just wondering if she might be able to knock a few more pounds off it.   This is for their comprehensive plus policy as there was only £9 difference between that and comprehensive.

I take it she has done the usual price reducing things such as adding older drivers (with good histories) etc?

Ditto to 400, have you looked at increasing the excess aspects, black box etc.

Thank you, she has added me but her dad could also go on if it might help, I just thought she only needed one of us

Flugelhorn, £700 is a great price.

Am pleased to say after 2 cancelled driving tests my daughter passed yesterday.  Spoke to Direct Line and they  updated the quotes I had done for her.  Comprehensive Plus cover with £150 excess £1064.95 which we thought was really good (both of us are named on her policy thank you Flugelhorn and appropriate discounts applied for us having other policies with them).
