Hi everyone,
We're having a quiet morning, we had our flu and covid jabs yesterday and are both feeling a bit jaded.
On Wednesday I met two friends for coffee. When our children were small we used to meet every week but then work and life got in the way and we only met up intermittently. The last of us is now retired so I suggested we try to resurrect the weekly meetings. Not so easy it seems, we're all so busy that it took us about six weeks to find the first date, the next one is not till the end of November, hopefully we will build up more of a rhythm over time. It was lovely to sit and chat now we all have grandchildren, although mine are quite a bit younger than their's, we all have similar issues and concerns. We didn't have any help from relatives when our children were small but then we were stay at home mums which todays generation can't afford (or at least they seem to want a more expensive lifestyle than we ever had and probably also the stimulation of work rather than childcare which can be so hard).
When we got to bed last night I discovered that Ziggy had weed on it, no idea why but thankfully the duvet sheet and mattress protector had kept it away from the mattress protector. Everything is in the wash now, hopefully the duvet will dry ok outside today.
We've had two nights this week when Laura has been out giving treatments so we've had childcare (Brian's also been out). Esben has ben going to sleep easily but Esther hasn't been able to drop off without Laura although she's tried poor lamb. It's been tiring though. We had fish and chips last night to make things easy but I have really gone off takeaways over the last few months and didn't really enjoy it. We're having chicken chorizo and potato traybake tonight.
Have a good day.9 -
Morning all
Nice bright day here and no rain due which is nice, I have a wash load on the go and that can be hung on the line once it’s done, I slept in till 9 this morning so I feel very rested.
Thanks for the comments re the mileage, all of my other clients pay for it, it was just never discussed when I took Rob on but the cost of petrol is making it prohibitive now, I have asked his SW the question so I am waiting for her to get back to me.
Took mum out yesterday to a few shops which she really enjoyed, I bought a new deep frying pan with lid which was £50 reduced to £10 such a bargain I have wanted one for a while for cooking curries or spag Bol, it can go in the oven too.
Dinner tonight will be a roast chicken but I am going to do salad and French bread 🥖 with it for a change.
TA I am glad you have got your sparkle back with you, it will be some comfort I think xxx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Izzy, I forgot to say that I agree, it made me cry, what senseless vandalism. I wonder if he did it to show off on social media, that's the only explanation I can come up with.9

Izzy, you aren't alone in feeling so angry. Between that and that 17yo getting arrested for killing a 15yo old girl I am wondering what the hell is wrong with teen boys nowadays! Or have they always been absolutely awful and I'm only noticing it so much because I'm old enough to be their mum?! I'm 40 tomorrowMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.
