What colour paint?

I've papered a feature wall with brown plank effect wallpaper and just wasted my money on Hessian colour paint, it doesn't look good together at all. Have spent all afternoon looking at paint colours, decorating web sites, etc, trying to work out what colour to buy and still am no wiser! Any help appreciated

Depends on what effect you want to achieve. Dramatic contrast or a colour that matches the feature wall?Look on sites like Pinterest and search ‘wood feature wall ideas’ or similar.Look on paint manufacturers sites for ideas too. When you think you have narrowed down the range of colours that may work, buy testers in that colour and also use the paint manufacturers ‘visualiser’ apps.If you want a straighforward opinion, I would go for a bright orangey colour for the other walls for maximum contrast, or a subtle shade of off-white to complement the plank effect (rustic cottage style). For somewhere in between, a mid to dark green may work. Without seeing any of the room though, that’s just my wild suggestions!1

Thank you for your suggestions, going to work through them, like the idea of the rustic off white0

In my opinion white walls will look the best. Add some accessories that will match the feature wall, like shelves, picture frames, so it all ties in together.
Good luck!0
