State pension - query

Hello,
quick query re State pension. My father became eligible for the state pension, we rang them to initiate the application however they asked him to confirm his address. He shared all the addresses that he had used in the past but apparently, their system has a different address on records, hence they are unable to initiate the application.
Is there a way this can be resolved, a complain system or anything?
Thanks

Thank you for prompt reply. My father is based out of the UK, and he doesn't seem to recall all the addresses from 70s and 80s. I am consicious that postal process may take longer, is there any other method, preferrably online or over the phone?0

I have been having issues with state pension for over a year, as my online application did not work, and they have notified Income Tax wrongly and I'm being over changed. There is a complaints procedure on line and you can telephone them back and say that you wish to raise a complaint, your dad will need to be present. They will take it over the phone or tell you where to send it. Be aware they close the complaints quickly, I was not notified and had to raise a 2nd. I have been waiting for months for a response. Does the local council through Council Tax have a note of past addresses? Just a thought. I hope you get this resolved soon, it is very distressing0

I had the same problem trying to deal with the tax office in my home country. Can't do anything online or on the phone as I can't tell them my last address. The thing is though I do know my last address - from 30 years ago - but it doesn't match what is on their system which only shows the last few years. They kept asking what the address was of my last return - I gave them 2 possibles (where I lived and my parent's address which I would have used for correspondence after moving) but neither worked.Suzycoll said:
Turned out it's because I haven't filed a tax return for 30 years there's nothing they can do. Oddly they also couldn't tell me how to resolve this problem as there's no way to talk to someone in person. But they did assure me that I would be fined next year if I didn't file a tax return...which I can't do as I can't register online to do one nor contact them from overseas to get a paper form sent to me (because it wouldn't be to an address on their system....)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
