Unfortunately, it looks like the emphasis is on the buyer. And I think a lot of people reading this thread would’ve fell into the same trap/situation ideally the website should advice you as you book. hope you get something back. although these days there seems to be less and less consumer rights. Especially on these travel third-partyWebsites

If in fact the warning was not displayed then you would have a reasonable case that the agent failed to discharge their duty of care towards you, their customer, but enforcing this against Booking.com is unlikely to be simple.
It is the explicit responsibility of the passenger to ensure they meet all entry and transit requirements of any country in any event. We have seen this requirement with Indian citizens transiting Germany on official transit flights where Germany considers this a risk for illegal migration.
It is generally common sense to only transit through visa free countries, especially when transiting through third countries on separate tickets booked with unauthorized agencies.💙💛 💔0
