Default reported twice

Hi, hoping can shed some light on this. Won’t go into the ins and outs but unfortunately had an old overdraft default and this debt was bought by a debt management company. Dealt with promptly and now paid off. The default is reported twice on my credit report- once by the bank and then by the debt management company. I’ve contacted the company who said it’s not reported twice but it’s because of the transference of the debt. However on my ClearScore app it says I have 2 defaults. This is the same debt so why can it be reported on twice and further harming my credit report?

This is the norm, assuming both defaults are the same date and for the same amount there's no problem, lenders will be aware this is all the one default.0

The Banks entry should show the date of default, and a zero balance, the debt purchasing companies entry should show the same default date, and a settled status.
It`s just one default, clearscore`s systems cannot differentiate between individual entries from previous and current debt owners.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
