route planning

I have previously posted about this but am still no further forward.
Calais - Averdon (or Blois) with a stop approx 70 miles or an hour into the journey.
Absolute minimum cost as we need two rooms so Formule1 or Etap.
Problem is I am trying to ascertain which budget hotels (if any) are situated nearest to the A1 France, even better if they are directly off it at a service area.
Alternatively, anyone know a company who works it all out and books for you?

An hour's drive from Calais towards Blois - I reckon that puts you around Lens/Arras. Have you tried https://www.multimap.com? It does big general maps but if you click on the Directions tab it will give you an itinerary, and you can click on each of the points on the itinerary to get a more detailed map of where you should be. After that, it's a question of going to http://www.accorhotels.com/accorhotels/gb/maporama/maporama_adr_ptint.html and picking which of Accor's fine range of hotels around Arras fits your budget. Alternatively https://www.multimap.com has links to hotels but I've never tried it - I always go for good old Formule 1 as well. And we shoehorn 2 adults and 2 small-ish kids into a room designed for 3 - the kids sleep top-to-tail in the bunk. We've never been pulled up about it in the 4 years we've been doing it!
The AA's routefinder on https://www.theaa.com isn't bad either, but it occasionally throws a wobbly if you put in a really obscure and tiny French village (the kind without a boulangerie...). Bon voyage et bonnes vacances!
...and I've just found a page I saw a while ago which lists all kinds of budget-type hotels -
http://www.day-tripper.net/hotels-infrance.html#Anchorfasthotel .Before you criticise a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you do criticise him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes.0 -
there's also https://www.mappy.com and https://www.viamichelin. They'll both plan your journey and mappy will show you nearby hotels too.0

Have a look here for the suggested route given buy Forumle1 and HERE for a list of hotels in the area, I guess THIS hotel would be best if it's not too far - it looks from the map as if it is at a service area just off the A1 at the .
Other hotel companies to look at are Mr Bed THIS hotel is just off the A16 (which, from what I can tell is the road you have to take before it becomes the A1??? - acording to the F1 site????)
Or, Campanille, THIS hotel is just off the A1 East of but between Lens and Arras. It is more expensive than Mr Bed or Formule1.
