Normally something like https://www.toolstation.com/mcalpine-straight-nozzle/p41802
That said, our system uses something similar and a recent engineer visit suggested that this style of connection if far from ideal and can result in blockages but is easier than redesigning the plumbing1 -
I think that unless you can get the washing machine hose to come in from high up you are likely to get sink water, along with all the bits that get into it, feeding into the washing machine. I believe that connector is for an overflow. This should be the bit that fits https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-hose-connector-40mm/48625

molerat said:I believe that connector is for an overflow. No - " Straight nozzle. Can accept discharge from a washing or dishwashing machine.".What you suggest is essentially the same. However, I agree - the dodgy white flexible hose on the right side, going up, will make the waste to leak into the WM unless its hose goes up even higher.

Thanks for your responses. Is it better to get a plumber to change all.
Complete set dual sink trap
This is what we currently have but won't use washing machine yet, with tap not leaking.
My brother got those below but didn't fit..

Thanks for your responses @DullGreyGuy @molerat @grumbler
Which do you reckon will work?

Another option is getting the whole complete set dual trap set changed by a plumber not sure how much that will cost.
Thanks

Oh no.... There is no traps on either sink, and the WM hose runs straight down from the connector - A sure fire recipe for getting dirty washing up water flowing in to the WM and nasty smells coming up from the sink. The whole lot needs doing properly. Her courage will change the world.

Dual sink trap complete set change. I put on Airtasker someone said £220, another said £100 plus parts. Was thinking £30-50.

Cheapest would be something like this -> https://www.toolstation.com/mcalpine-trap-kit/p19492 at £23.34You could spend more, and you might have to depending on how easy it is to connect everything up to the existing waste.
