My wife applied on line today for a GHIC and also applied for a GHIC for myself all on one application, within minutes we had a reply and It said mine was completed and didn’t require further information.
Then another E-Mail was sent saying We have been unable to confirm your entitlement to a UK GHIC and require further information and needing

Proof of residency in the UK with 2 Documents in her name and address. My wife is uk born and lived here all her life so cannot understand why they are wanting proof .. it’s not a scam is it , as some of the documents they mention like bank statements are personal information, is this a normal practice that occurs..

You could get her to try on line again in case she entered something incorrectly. https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/healthcare-abroad/apply-for-a-free-uk-global-health-insurance-card-ghic/ is the link you require. If you go to Gov.uk site it just points you to this link anyway.

Bank statements and such are used to provide settled status which isn't really what your wife needs to prove.Definitely wouldn't share these with anyone other than another bank.I seem to remember it took a day or two before I got an email saying it had been accepted.I think doing it again is the way forward. There must have been some error.I would check yours too.Look at your browsing history also and see which site you were using.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
