London and Edinburgh insurance - Help me track down a pension adminstrator

My partner used to work at London and Edinburgh and had a non contributory staff pension.
She is struggling to find all relevant paperwork related to the pension, but has done some digging and ascertained some info
London and Edinburgh were taken over in 1998 by Norwich Union, and then rebranded as Aviva.
HMRC have noted contributions were made to this pension fund from 1998 - 2012
We have tried to find out who is currently administrating London and Edinburgh pensions, but so far to no avail, is there a number or contact center responsible for them now?
We have tried the pension tracing service - They said because LnE doesn't exist anymore there isnt a current audit trail to where they are now or who is the current administrator or owner, there surely must be current records as this must be a significant pot of money floating about!
We have tried Aviva who mention they have no info for these dates, and wont confirm they took over London and Edinburgh pensions as it seems noone old enough is around to give info on this historical data.
Any pointers or helpers most appreciated.

Could this be of help?

It's a booklet (from Aviva) about the L&E scheme
Looks like it's administered by XPSIf you contact them then they should be able to find any records easily if you quote Name, DOB & NINo.Telephone: 01738 50 3430
Email: l&e@xpsgroup.co.uk
Write to: XPS Administration, Saltire House, 3 Whitefriars Crescent, Perth, PH2 0PA
EDIT : Should say that the booklet is from 2011, things may, of course, have moved elsewhere.3 -
Aviva Insurance Limited was the principal sponsoring employer for London and Edinburgh Retirement and Death Plan in 2021 (Aviva Insurance Limited Solvency and Financial Condition Report 2021), which might help a little. I tried to look through the L&E Insurance company's annual reports for clues, but many were basically "all employees employed by Aviva Employment Services Limited" and so on.

XPS do administer the Aviva staff DB pension scheme. Try the number given above first & if they don’t have that scheme, Aviva have a policy tracing dept that are usually knowledgeable about where the old staff & acquired company schemes are now held & the contact details. They can’t find individual policies but usually identify the administrators.0

We were really running out of options as the pension finder service hit a dead end. Thankyou and hopefully anyone else with the same issue sees this thread.

Thank you for posting the link for the l & e staff pension scheme. I have been pulling my hair out with Aviva. I had all of the details they should need, even a certificate number, but the were unable to help me. But with just one simple phone call to the number given in the above pdf document and a bucket full of money has been found. Once again. Thank you...3
