The longer you hold onto savings, the harder it becomes to let it go.
Yup, I share this sentiment too.

I think it is hard when you spend so much time filling up the pots to then see the balance decrease, even though that is exactly what they are for 🤣2

OK so my impulsive behaviour has kicked in again. I've ordered a new sofa which is being delivered tomorrow and my old one hasn't been taken away yet. Ooops. In my defence I wasn't expecting delivery until Tuesday. So now I'm trying to find someone to come and take my old one away. My dad loaned me the money for it as my old one is bad for my back and way too big.
I've decided to withdraw some of my savings and pay off the Virgin card. I will have £2500 in total left over and as I spend it I will replenish it. Any leftover funds will go on paying off the rest of Natwest card. The £50 per month I currently pay to Virgin will go into Sinking fund.
Amount being withdrawn is £3600
£3000 will go to Virgin to clear that.
£600 to Natwest which will leave £1350 with 13 months to clear it. This is because I put the sofa cost on the Natwest card and paid that money off Virgin so only dealing with one card.
I have adjusted my budget to include the cost of my weight loss injections and give me a bit more spending money. I'm hoping it will make it easier to stick to.
It's been confirmed that our pay award has been agreed so that will be paid in Decembers pay which will be an extra £500 in that month pay after deductions. This will go off Natwest credit card. That leaves me 13 months to pay off £850. I have £25 p/m set up as the DD which is £325. So that leaves £525 to find in 13 months.
I will have an extra £60 p/m in my wages from January, although in April bills go up, I move up a step on the pay scale so I am hoping that will cover most of the increased costs.
I'm putting £25 per month away into premium bonds, and overpaying £20.70 per month on my mortgage. I rounded up to nearest £100. This may not seem like much but the plan is for the premium bonds to not be touched and just let them keep building up. The mortgage Overpayment will save me 2 years and £6k in interest if I keep it up. Hopefully by time I remortgage in June the rates might have come down a bit more so my Overpayment will be higher. I could put this money towards the card but I know I can clear it before end of 0% so to me makes sense to overpay the mortgage. I'm trying to get a good balance of savings, spending and Mortgage overpayments.

Sofa has been picked up yay! New one is being delivered between 7am and 10am tomorrow, got a text to say I am first delivery and its going to be nearer 7. Not looking forward to that wake up
Also had my new broadband connected. Currently £1.80 more than broadband I have but 3 x as fast and no mid contract rises. Current provider is on a deal which discount ends in March and price increases every April. So I'm happy with the move as in long run will be much better off

So the sofa saga continues. I regretted my impulsive behaviour so tried to cancel it. They said I couldn't as was with delivery company so I decided to just keep it now rather than in 6 months time. So I find someone to take my old sofa away and get up ready for 7am delivery. 7am comes, 8am, 9am, 10am. Try to call delivery company, get put on hold and then get an answer machine. So I leave a message and complete an online form. Another hour passes and no sofa or contact, try ringing again and still no answer. Wait in all day for sofa with no delivery. Ring the company at 9am this morning when they open, finally get through to someone who tells me it didn't get delivered as my order got cancelled by the retailer. !!!!!!. That's what I originally wanted but now I have no sofa. So I've had to reorder it, price has gone up £10 and I'm waiting for a new delivery day. Lesson learnt as this has ended up costing me an extra £25 as they have only refunded original sofa cost not delivery. But it will be worth it when sofa arrives as this will give me so much more space in my living room.

What a palaver. Not good about the extra cost, but at least it's giving you space. X
