Travel insurance

I have an annual multi travel insurance policy which doesn’t include cruises.  I have now booked a cruise and stay holiday (7 days cruise / 7 days hotel stay).  My current insurer wants to charge me for annual cover which is quite an increase in premium.  I’ve looked online and found single trip policies which are a lot cheaper, can I take out a policy to cover the cruise only and still use my annual policy for the 2nd week hotel stay?

  • Why not contact your current insurer and ask them ?
  • Just be sure they cover the same things - and what you need to cover for a cruise.
Where it is and what you need cover for are different.

But I bet if you ask your insurer why they are insisting on an annual policy for one cruise and don't they do single trip for such you may get an offer you want.

Providing the trip isn't close you have time to shop around and that's when you get the best prices. They will know you have time and try to get your business.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Generally no, you would need to take a single policy out that covers the whole trip not just the cruise element otherwise you are giving false information when they ask for your return date.
