Bed slats keep coming out.

Bought this bed used about 18 months ago, nice bed and no real issues with it until now (though the matress is starting to sink, im a big guy and dog sleeps next to me so maybe contributing to this)
Last week I heard a crunch and noticed 2 bed slats had come out, not damaged in any way just came out, slotted them back in and they lasted 2 days and came out again, and this has happend a few more times since.
A strange thing I noticed though is they don't seem to be as snug as before ie the other bed slats you can wiggle them just a little for movement, if you wiggle these they come out but zero visible damage, unless the frame itself is a bit off.
I tried epoxying the clips in yesterday and had a good nights sleep, this morning I had to get something from behind bed and put my knee on the slats and they came out again,
I have a similar issue with a gold up bed, the same area of slats i.e in the middle, in that case I ordered new clip on holders but the wood just slips out..
For both I am thinking of wedging something in and gluing/expoxying something down to stop them wiggling about, but any actual fixes?

I have a bed frame which is now nearly 14 years old from Tesco Direct (remember that).I had problems with the slats constantly coming out after a few months. Replacing the clips helped but as time went on I found I had to do this way more often than I would have liked. As a final step before I gave up and bought a new frame I replaced all the clips and all the slats with wider ones purchased from Ebay - and that did the trick. This was about 5 years ago and the first of those wider clips are now going brittle and letting slats slip out. It's always worth having a few extra clips in so these can be replaced, it'd probably not be a stupid idea if I just replaced them all now.1

Thanks, well thats a possibility. I will try and wedge them first and/or a trick online said to use velcro.Luckily though I can just turn the bed around as the head and baseboard just lifts off, only issue is finding space in room to do that and also its more of a 2 person job.0

You might find it's the slats have become weaker and nothing to do with the clips0

My guess would be a combination of the timber weakening and the sides of the bed flexing over time. If the slats are toward the middle section of the bed that is an area with the potential for the sides to flex more.

As above, check the two sides of the bed - compare widths at head, foot, and middle.
If middle is wider, or can easily be made so, then some sort of tie will likely be required.
Could be a s simple as a length of 2x1 batten, screwed at each end to the sides, or perhaps a couple of screw-in metal eyelets, and a length of suitable (non-stretchy) stranded wire in between.0 -

It would be a good idea to fit a leg in middle of new strut.0 -
Hi all, sorry for late response I was away on holiday and bed now is fine for 2 reasons,When I came back for some reason the slats no longer were loose/wobbly but a bigger thing was I noticed right in the middle where the slats were the matress had sunken so I guess a lot of weight was going on it, I flipped the mattress over and the slats haven't came out once since.0
