Pet insurance due to renew- when to claim?

I have pet insurance with Many Pets which is due to renew in 2 weeks. My cat had surgery in August but I have been going through an incredibly stressful situation which is ongoing, along with other health issues so I keep forgetting about making a claim and now I am wondering when I should put it in. They emailed me a few weeks ago to say the cost is increasing by about £6, if I put in the claim now will they change the renewal price again? Or should I wait until after?

I'd first check whether there is a time limit on making a claim. I'd have thought if you waited until after renewal, they might just turn the claim down because it 'belonged' to last year. But I don't know, and really the only people to ask are your insurers.Signature removed for peace of mind1

if the calim would increase the premium then , when you do claim, they may back date any increase to the start of the policy year, rsulting ine alrge back payment due.
Better to claim now.2 -
Just a thought, if you have a claim limit and waited until you renewed and then needed to claim again, would the first claim count as this years and reduce the amount you could claim this year?Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again0

Be prepared for them to increase your renewal fees once they know about the treatment, even if they don't pay out for your claim. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

The renewal price has remained the same but I am still waiting for a decision. They allow claims to be made up to 1 year from the date of treatment. My cat's boosters are always due right before the renewal time & the vet always finds a problem!0
