Morning all.Hope everyone is well. I have today and tomorrow off work. Can’t really go anywhere this afternoon as I have to wait for a call for a fit for work assessment for my daughter. (I am her appointee).Hubby needs to change his job, as the one he has just comes with so much baggage, and he’s a nightmare to live with sometimes.Have a good day all. xxStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.679

Morning folks. The torrential rain came in late last night though everything was extremely wild much earlier. The wind was the strongest I've experienced for seven or eight years, it was quite scary at times. Everything seems calm now. The sky is turning from grey to dusty pink and then fading to white, it's fascinating to watch. I expect that everywhere will be flooded.Yesterday the episode of Amazing Hotels had a section on the exact RIB and trip across to Jura through the Corrryvrekan which I did with a friend at the start of the month. We saw the glamping tents so it was interesting to see inside them.Today I'm going to an exercise class and my cleaner is coming. That's the excitement for today. I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Monday to all.10

Morning folks. A brief one off me as I am still feeling grim. Despite having a negative result Friday and Saturday I have just done another test and it's a definite positive this time. I hope I haven't passed it on to the girls, though they said there are lots of cases at school so will be lucky to escape it anyway.. I thought I was doing well to escape it. It's finally got me. I get worse as the day goes on as that's when the shivering starts. I had a coughing fit this morning and the sharp knives are still in my throat. I make a poor patient so I hope it soon passes. I have been trying to cancel my flu jab for today but the online site isn't playing so I will ring them when they open. I think today will be another sofa day dozing under my throw.
Take care all and be safe from this blooming Covid variant. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Morning All
What a wet and windy night that was! I thought I would have to close the bedroom window but I seem to have slept through it. No doubt the roads will be a flooded this morning - I'm going to collect the little one as I have a day off (September weekend) and her Mummy can go to work. She has a cough and cold so I don't think we'll be doing much.
Glad you've survived Gers, I'll catch up with that programme later. I didn't visit that shop as I couldn't buy anything that had to be chilled.
Hope you're feeling better Carolbee and TA.
Fantastic news Coxy! I'm really happy for you.
Fingers crossed for your OH Scarlet.
Hope you've enjoyed Jersey Snoozer, my Mum's family were from there so I used to visit often.
Well done on the volunteering Izzy.
Hope your DD has had an uneventful journey back and feels better dp1.
Happy new car WL.
I put washing out yesterday that almost dried before the storm, also cleared lots in the garden - the brown bin is full and a couple of bags have gone into the normal bin too. It looks a lot tidier out there, just need some dry weather to give the grass what will probably be the last cut of the year.
Hope you all have a good day, take care. XX10 -
Morning everyone Gers I watched that last night and thought of you straight away I’ve never heard of Corryvrekan in my life and then twice in a couple of weeks the scenery was breathtaking colours were beautiful I bet it’s very dramatic in a storm it even made Rob emotional very beautiful. It’s a bit brighter here but high winds last night have now died down TA hope you are feeling better soon get plenty of rest I’m going to meet my friend for a coffee and a natter this morning not at work until 12 . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

some house admin to catch-up on on todayCarolbee9 -
Morning all. Bright and sunny here again and I've just hung out some washing. We must have missed all the nasty overnight downpours.
Yesterday's visit to play in a friend's garden was truly lovely. He was a landscape gardener and his garden is beautiful, especially as the sun was out and there was a small marquee with food. After that I managed to get home, ate and was then back on the road to play at a very enjoyable new pub session another friend had organised so that was a good day.
Today I must drop my car round to have some work done on the brakes and then have to be around this afternoon as we have the cleaners coming. I should use the time to do something useful but it might not happen!
TA; sorry to hear you have Covid. It sounds nasty so please take it easy.
Have a good day everyone.8 -
Morning all
Dry and bright here and set in for a good day, my lady is not coming today so I am going to collect Rob and meet with his best friend and her carer, we will go to the sea front for a walk and crazy golf and then get some chips and a cup of tea somewhere.
We went to a few shops yesterday just for little bits and pieces and then came home and did a few jobs, I filled a couple of holes on the walls where we had moved stuff and painted over them so it all looks nice again. OH took the dogs out for a walk and I had a long soak in the bath. Just as we were coming in a man came up to the house and said he was buying next door he asked what the area was like etc , he seemed really nice his wife was heavily pregnant with their second child which is due in a week the other little girl was about 3, they seemed like a nice little family so I hope it goes through for them.
I have just put a wash on which I will hang out before I go to work. House is quite tidy.Coxy that’s great news xxx
TA poor you I hope it passes quickly, plenty of rest and fluids xx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Thanks nmlc, have a good day.Morning all, it's lovely and bright here and the wind seems to have dropped. I feel shattered after a poor night's sleep, pooch restless, which was probably due to the wind now I think about it. She's snoozing away now- typicalSorry to hear you're poorly TA, get well soon.Usual football watching this weekend, after DGDs yesterday we passed through the retail park so nipped in marks, and a sports shop- DH wanted some new trainers. DB messaged asking if we were in, we just had time for a quick tidy before they got here to deliver DGD's birthday card. We are all hoping his DD is ok, they dropped her off on Sat. to move into her uni accomodation, and there were lots of tears when they left, I've had a couple of messages from her which sound a bit forlorn too
, such a big change.
We have l.o. curry for tonight so that's easy, but I need to make some more bread or rolls.Hope you all have a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9
