Evri return

Hi, I ordered some clothes from Ultimate Outdoors on 28th July which were delivered by Evri. When I requested to return them on July 31st, Ultimate Outdoors sent me an email with label/QR code. I didn't print the label but took the package to local shop which is an Evri depot where they read the QR code and gave me a 6 digit blue card from them as proof of drop off. Ultimate Outdoors never received the return and their colleague told me that when she tracked the number I had, it came up as having being delivered by Evri to another company called Shein. I have never bought anything from Shein so it looks like Evri delivered to the wrong place. I have tried several times and failed to speak to a human on Evri and have raised 2 complaints on the complaints procedure section of their website (1st one on August 21st) but nobody has contacted me. When I give them the tracking number on their phone line, a robot tells me that this package has been successfully delivered to Shein! The clothes were worth over £100 so I really want to get what I'm owed. Any help/advice gratefully received.

Go back to Ultimate Outdoors as they provided the label. You do have proof that you sent it.

They lost my return but refunded anyway, although it was a lesser amount.

Similar story but with Debenhams and Evri. Evri sent the return to Amazon, which was the address on the return label, but was disowned by Debenhams. Neither helped at all, but after a tortuous process Debenhams refunded for the lost item. Question is, why did it have to be tortuous?
