Could you Google, or take some photos, of what 'look' you are trying  to achieve with this cornice, please? I'm sure if you are looking for 'neat and tidy', or an actual stand-out 'feature'.

And I second the GRP choice. Yes, I understand that current felts are far superior to their predecessors, and we had one family friend trying to persuade us to go for it on our (lanterned) extension. But GRP ('Flexitec', in this case) still won the day. I'd definitely go GRP, especially if working around features such as lanterns. Seamless finish.

Not sure why you would exclude rubber in favour of felt? TBH having aluminium cornice and felt roof seems a bit 'fur coat and no knickers' if you'll forgive the turn of phrase! The cornice parts on ours are upvc as far as I'm aware.

This is our EDPM roof, there's lots of shaping that's been done to fit around the upstands for the Veluxs and the channeled drainage run, that I'm sure would be a lot more difficult to get a good watertight fit to with something like felt.

    Thanks TIW

We were looking at a feature type, but may be reviewing our thoughts.
I hear what you say about the felting.

Thanks for your thoughts too Slinky. We're probably a bit committed with the felt, but will have a look.

    Now, that is nice :-)
That shouldn't be expensive, but I bet it is.

Will that face need to accommodate the rainwater goods too? If so, that would be more tricky, and likely involve a hidden box gutter.
Or, if so, an alternative could be to go with moulded guttering and make it part of the design.
Most of what is in the example you posted could be pieced together (what a lovely DIY project  ) from existing materials such as PVC fascia boards, which have a hockey-stick profile. A decent pastiche could almost certainly be made up from a normal flat fascia board as the starting point, hockey-return at the bottom as usual, with an added ditto adhered to the top half - to give that extra step. Ogee profile guttering perhaps screwed directly to this (I wonder about the chances of getting away with adhering it on?!), and the horizontal beadings/strips would be peasy to add - and all of it painted a single colour.
Or, kiss, and simply find the nicest Ogee-profile guttering and have it fixed to a flat fascia as norm. But then add horiz beading strips, and paint it all the same colour. If the gutter is only required on that front face, still take it around both corners as that's the stand-out visual. Then into outlets with DP(s) down the sides out of sight.
Cost? Minimal. But you'd need someone willing to do it

    Thanks ThisIsWeird.

The picture is the £7.5k quote i mentioned in the OP.

I have looked at the Gutter Centre before, and my problem was similar ro the Victoria link I posted earlier, I couldn't see the corners. They just have the 2m run. If you use the Cornice profile B link then there is only one product associated with it. It could well be that I am being completely thick and maybe just need to give them a call.
  • If you want to stick with the felt - if it's too much hassle to change at this point - that's fine. An experienced fitter will make it look very neat (not that it should be visible), and it'll last waaay in excess of 20 years. Or should. And that's as much of a g'tee as you'll likely get with any roofing material.

    Thanks, that's quite reassuring.

The fitter couldn't come more recommended, it can only be seen from one bedroom window, and if it lasts 20 years that's fine with me.
