samsung galaxy usb video out

Away from home enjoying sun shine.
But wish to show things from my phone on to an old TV.
Is this possible?
If so how.
It is a Galaxy A41and I am told it should be possible but not fully how.
The TV is elderly/budget TurboX but does have HDMI inputs. No WiFi capability I understand ( not English menu!)
I have purchased USB c to HDMI converter and HDMI cable.
TV says no input.
Phone says USB controlled by device (external I think).
Any ideas please?

Hi thanks for that link. I had already found that and tried via USB connection and then adaptor and HDMI.Neither worked.Usb seems to only allow tethering to give Internet access to the TV.( it's not smart enough for that!)Hdmi adaptor seems to be recognised but TV hdmi selection informs no signal. Suspect TV problem?1

This is interesting, posts on Samsung's community indicate the A41 doesn't support MHL and so won't work with HDMI adaptors.
But there seem to be several websites promoting particular adaptors. I can't decide if the community is wrong or these websites just assume it works for all Samsung phones.
If it does work, you should have a Settings>Connections>Video option to turn it on and off.0 -
I guess that the community could have it right...and the TV is not accepting input.Either or both.Ah well, it'll just be the small screen. Thanks all.1
