I've also seen a brand new van scratched to bits because it wasn't jet washed first to get rid of road sand and grit.0 -

No the exact opposite. It just means the ‘air gap’ between your double glazing panes is doing what it is supposed to do: keeping the heat in and keeping the cold out. It occurs at this time of the year because of the high moisture content in the air which condenses on the cold outer panes of your windows.
The last few years I hardly use the central heating, about 1-2 hours a day to take the chill of the air. On the coldest days about 4 hours of im home all day.
So does that mean my windows are doing their job?

First real condensation on the inside this morning as it dipped to 6oC outside and inside was 19oC.
To be expected just wipe it off0
