Should I cancel dog claim?

My dog has had a massive claim this year made up of lots of claims
plus one separate small one
my question is should I cancel the small one.
the bigs ones are surgery followed by multiple physio visits, laser treatment, ultrasound both diagnostic and therapeutic, steroid injection to joint etc. this is definitely now in 5 figures. Lots of claims but one condition.
the small one was a UTI 5 days post surgery, I am fairly sure this was a result of surgery due to confinement and lack of hydration but they won’t have it so it’s a separate claim of £370 minus £200 excess.
they’ve been extremely vague on the phone about next years premiums but said it probably b down to value and not number of claims/conditions.

So should I cancel the small claim and pay them £170? Or are we just screwed anyway?

Cancelled/withdrawn/declined claims are typically still declarable and still premium impacting (unless you are with PetPlan who dont use claims history). The difference between a withdrawn claim and a £170 one is probably minimal but only your insurers can say for sure and even then only within X days of renewal (normally circa 28)1

Thanks for your advice. Not with PetPlan. Went with PetSure as they would insure my dogs pre-existing condition (leishmania).
Would not have put the claim in if I'd had more idea it wasn't going to be treated as a continuation claim, but it's probably too late now.
Thanks again.0
