    No.

Bad move. The keeper is so wrong.  They are probably panicking, thinking they have to attend a hearing or that "the costs will increase". Neither is true.

The Defendant will win this case without a hearing as DCB will discontinue it a bit later in the process. It is soooo easy.

NOT a lost cause. Shorten the defence. Do it now and email it in good time to the court that ordered it, plus copy in DCB Legal of course.

Carry on. DCB Legal will eventually discontinue.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • To close the loop on this case - it's now been settled with Secure-A-Space/ DCB Legal, for £485 (inflated, but significantly better than original grossly inflated amount they were pursuing of £804.44).

I know settling is anathema to this forum and not the recommended course, but in this case it was what the RK wanted and I was pretty much backed into a corner.  It was ultimately the Keepers' case, and I certainly didn't want to face the hassle of him then making a claim against me and trying to take me to court over it.

To be honest, at this point I'm just relieved it's over with as having it hanging over things was causing us both massive stress at a time when there's already several other things to be massively stressed about.

My overriding lesson learned is to 1) appeal any tickets straight away with business, then with parking company, and 2) if appeals don't work at that stage, just pay the ticket because the amount of time and headache to fight it is not worth it. I know it's what the parking companies count on, and they're devious sheisters clogging up courts with crap claims for needlessly inflated amounts, but you also have to pick your battles in life.

This forum is amazing for the guidance and support it provides those who do have the time and motivation to fight to the end.

    Cheers.
