Raid the home baking shelf and get some bright coloured food colouring, open and guard the drain cover 13 mts away.
Put food colouring with plenty of water down round pipe and see if any appears in drain you have open. That way you can see if drains are connected,although if blocked may not work.
The soil you have dug up does not look particularly waterlogged to me.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke1 -
