Economy 7

Does a variable tariff mean that economy 7 no longer operates as with a fixed tariff, as my bill for electricity shows only one figure?

What does the tariff information say on the statement? E7 tariffs have 2 rates and they can be variable as well as fixed tariffs.

Economy 7 can have a variable tariff or a fixed tariff.  However, in either case, there are always two rates (peak and offpeak)

Who is your supplier and what tariff have they moved you onto - or did you select at the end of your fixed period(*).
Most will quite happily bill E7 meters at standard rate based on total consumption if you ask for it.
Or have they moved you onto single rate by mistake / default option offered and no alternative selected / or actaully to be genuinely helpful.

Some appear to have done so to others - a recent post from an Ovo customer iirc - but they were only using 20% off peak electric annually (had other heat source) - so SR would have been cheaper anyway.

So do the maths - and get your E7 dual rate re-instated IF (and only IF) it is still the best option - for your annual use.

(* Despite being on E10 and using 75-80 % off peak units - EOnNext are offering me at least 4 tariff options if I log in - and ask for a quote - single rate - fixed for 12m or SVT (variable).  But they are also offering fixed or SVT on dual rates - which looking at the rates - but not the terms - look more like E7 - certainly variable dual rates not the same as my variable E10.  And I am sure they would love to take me off E10 - and not let me back on it - if I selected any of the above)
