very impressed with them to be fair. My 1 year fixed rate with them was due to mature today, I actually logged on this morning at 7am and theyd already paid it out with the interest to my bank account.0

I allowed a new update this morning on Android phone and afterwards wouldn't authenticate. App deleted/reinstalled, and now working. Cash transfer sent and received OK.

There was an app update yesterday (12 Oct 23) which solved the problem for me. However, another update this morning exhibited the problem again, 'Failed to authenticate, please try again'. The only way to login is to logout, receive a code via SMS, enter that code and you're in. When there are similar rates of interest elsewhere it's a deal breaker for me. I'm using a Pixel 8 and Android 14. Back to Chip I go!

I've always to receive a code by SMS from Tandem. What's the other way to login? I can't use fingerprint though due to bad eczema on hands, which is a right pain as never recognised so given up on that with any apps.0

From user comments there may be a current issue with Android 14 and Tandem app fingerprint authentication. This wouldn't be due to recent Tandem app updates - more a need for an app update as fingerprint reading is more of an OS level thing. The sensor method used on Pixel isn't great anyway so there's likely variation in success day to day as well.
The core issue is the lack of a choice of methods - here it's fingerprint or nothing with no PIN option. The SMS just confirms the device not the user - a concern for a banking app.0
