Aldermore Advice

Need to make more of my savings and in the past always kept with the well known banks etc, was looking at Aldermore rates and they seem quite good but nervous about using them. Has anyone any advice/experience of using them, reviews seem good but never to sure with Trustpilot etc.

Aldermore are ok but there's better rates elsewhere. For easy access if that's what you're after:

FSCS gives you £85k protection with the providers listed.
If you're looking at fixed rates check out the NS&I 1 Year GGB/GIB at 6.2%AER asap before it goes NLA.

The only issue I have had with them is when using the App. It always takes two attempts to log on. Web, no problem. Not had any problems adding or withdrawing money as required.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

Aldermore are fine, I've used them for over 10 yearsDon't use Trustpilot for financial products0

As above, I've also used them for years, and have just this second opened a fixed account with them. I'll decide whether to fund it in the coming days.0

Thanks, just retired so was looking at their 5 year fixed to get a reasonable return over a longer period. Was also considering moving one of my ISAs to again their fixed rate.0

Used for 3 years - no problems. Just gave instructions to open a new fixed rate account to replace one which matures next month - the rate for that is higher than for new customers (6% vs 5.9%).

Had business and personal accounts with Aldermore going back probably 10 years or more. No issues.

I go back to the days when they were Ruffler Bank, about 16 years or so. No problems.

One good point is that Aldermore are rarely ( if ever) the subject on here of complaints.

I did not know they even had an app. In fact I just searched the Apple app store and no results.
In any case for fixed term savings accounts an app does not really bring any benefit.
OP - Be aware that in common with many smaller banks, that they use a big clearing bank for payments in and out. So when paying in it will be to a Barclays, HSBC account etc ( I can not remember which one)0 -
