  • My brother lived in Spain for 15 years, that was 30 years ago.
He kept his banks and credit cards driving license etc registered at my address.
    Never had any issues.
    I just checked his post.
Only once was there a problem, The bank wanted a copy of his passport.
I went to the bank and said he was on holiday for 4 weeks and on his return he would visit them.
He popped back for 3 day and all was sorted.
As I moved about for many years with no real fixed abode, I kept everything at my dads address.

If you did that these days there's a fairly high chance of the account being frozen and the bank giving the circumstances under which the account is held and operated very close scrutiny.

(although finding a bank branch left open to visit may be the first hurdle now)

If the bank's T&C's require residence in the UK then it would be unwise to use a C/O address to pretend to be living in the UK, especially when there are banks/services available to deal with the OP's situation.

I am not a huge fan of Revolut myself, and I know about their difficulties in obtaining a UK banking licence. They now have for the second year running missed their annual accounts deadline. I would never use them as a main bank, even if they ever managed to obtain a UK licence. But just for the purposes of having a UK sort code and account number, with minimum amounts of money ever going through them, I would quite happily use them. After all, they do have an FCA licence as an electronic money institution, so they are not completely rogue. Mind you, NS&I might not accept them as a Bank...............

The more robust solution would certainly be HSBC. But that's most unlikely a quick application.

Does Revolut offer a physical plastic card on their free (standard) plan? Their pricing https://www.revolut.com/our-pricing-plans/ says about a few free ATM withdrawals, does this mean the card is included?
