Impossible to cancel O2 Sim without early repayment charge!
I received an email on the 15th saying that Virgin Media are changing their contract to allow them to increase the price each each but "If you’re unhappy with anything in this email, you can cancel your package, including the O2 sim in your Volt bundle, any time before 31/10/2023 without paying any early cancellation fees."
When I call virgin they can process the cancellation but say I have to call O2 separately to cancel that part of the contract they say they have no record of this email so will enforce the early repayment charge. When I go back to Virgin they say O2 should have the information on my account but when I speak to O2 they still don't.
So it's effectively impossible to cancel that contract without fees - I've spent a lot of time on hold now across multiple calls so will have to give up unless anyone has any suggestions.

Put In a complaint with o2. If you can attach a copy of the email from virginFTB - April 20201

They don't talk. O2 recently told us the upgrade on the SIM we had alongside our virgin deal would be taken into consideration when we renewed our contract / took a new one.
Virgin said no never would be they are completely separate. So we were misold the O2 upgrade package on a 24 mth contract and now paying for that plus an increase in Virgin media costs.0 -
I changed my deal with VM and they sent me an o2 SIM card when I specifically said I didn’t want one, and they set up a direct debit without my consent, how do I cancel this.0

I had the same issue, and spoke to 4 agents on the O2 side that had clearly not been briefed properly. So if you call refer to the line in there communications that says you can cancel the Media and SIMO contract.0
