Does this happen when the filter is plugged into the test socket?

If not your extension wiring is faulty, if it does try another filter.

I thought that you wanted to find the fault! You need to fault find logically.

If you've tried more than one filter and the same thing happens, it's possible that they are all faulty, but it seems ~very~ unlikely.

I've used microfilters supplied by Orange before and never had a problem - they're probably all made in the same huge factory in China anyway...

I think we've been through this before but... if you have more than on phone socket in the house, do you have a microfilter on every socket that is used, either by a phone, or the BB router (or both)?

If that all checks out, I would raise a fault with BT and get them to check the wiring on their side of the master socket - that side is their responsibility so they should not charge.

If that checks out, then it must be the wiring inside your house. BT can check that, but that will (probably) cost you.
