Claiming small courses as a business expense

I have a small business and while starting up, I had been purchasing softwares and a couple of small courses and never claimed these.
I have went to purchase another small course from a tutor and the course details "that it can be claimed as a business expense"
Is this possible for a sole trader to claim this on their self assessment and what would it come under. When I looked Into this, it seems to say only LTD can claim this so u nsure if I could do this

You can claim for a course that helps you in your current business, either furthering your knowledge in your field or a refresher course. You cannot claim for a course in a brand new skill that is completely unrelated to your business or to use to start a business.3

There is no difference between a sole trader business and Ltd Comany when it comes to this matter.belasta said:I have a small business and while starting up, I had been purchasing softwares and a couple of small courses and never claimed these.
