TV with Freeview and Sky+HD

My faithful 23 year old TV has finally given up and I’ve been given a TV with Freeview built in.  I don’t have an aerial, only a Sky +HG box.  I can’t get the TV to tune in at all.  Is it possible to use the TV without having an aerial via the Sky box?

Hi.   When you say you don't have an aerial, do you mean you haven't got a Sky dish as well?

If you do have a Sky dish then you can use the TV without an aerial.   Just plug the HDMI cable from the Sky box to the TV HDMI port and put the TV onto the relevant HDMI port.

If you haven't got a Sky dish you're a bit stuck.    Probably the best thing would be to buy a cheap Amazon Firestick and use that for live BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 etc.

Well done for having a TV for 23 years by the way.  I'm really proud of myself that mine is 7 years old and I thought that was doing well.

No, you need an aerial for Freeview, if it's a working Sky HD+ box you should be able to get Freesat from Sky via a dish (I don't think you need a viewing card anymore). You won't be able to record although Sky do a low cost option where you can record.
