Keep checking all three cras to see if they show up. I have an old Barclaycard account that doesn't show up on TransUnion, and some of the other took a few months to show up after they were sold.

In feeling quite pleased today as I've finally got a default notice from Virgin after 12 months on a dmp and 15 months of not paying. They were the last one to default so I now have a clear time to a clean credit record. I've made a complaint to them about the length of time it took to default me so ill see if they will backdate it
Sounds a bit weird but congrats on finally getting a default. I have 2 virgin cards and have just cancelled the DD’s on both. Hoping they default quicker than what you have experienced 🤞🤞🤞

Initially I didn't know it was best to get defaults first so I set up a payment arrangement with them. Once I'd learnt about getting defaults I stopped paying and waited, so having the arrangement might have slowed the default now. It was quite infuriating when things kept going with no default but at least the wait is over now.

Do you think there’s any point in making an irresponsible lending complaint if i haven’t paid interest? I have a virgin card that was maxed out £7k, it was on 0% and I was only paying the min each month. I had many other cards, all maxed out, some incurring interest, some not. I was then able to take out another card with virgin for £6k and maxed that one out too. Obviously completely my own fault. I can’t get any further balance transfers, both are due to come off 0% and I can’t affoard the interest so I have cancelled both DD’s.

It might be worth a go, after all it doesn't cost anything. If your complaint is successful it's only the interest you've paid that will get refunded, but you might also be able to get any bad markers on your credit report removed. I made a complaint against Aqua which I took the the FOS, the interest refund was quite minimal but the FOS decision was that all bad markers on my credit report should be removed once I'd cleared the balance.
  • Thanks, that’s really encouraging. 👍

Agreed! I have 5 CCs and 4 of them have defaulted and show on my credit file. Virgin are the only ones I seem to have trouble with.

Barclaycard were great with me and set the default date to the date they heard from Stepchange so my credit report would be affected for the.least possible time. Virgin seem to be to determined to make things as difficult as they can for me.

Do you mind if I ask you another question about this please? So my irresponsible lending complaints have been upheld. They are crediting interest/charges back to account and have said they will remove any bad markers on credit files until ‘present’ only thing is…the accounts haven’t defaulted yet…did I make these complaints too early??
