Fine received after visiting cinema even though I scanned the QR code for free parking?

Hi, I’ve just read through the advice for newbies but was still hoping for a bit of advice if possible. I borrowed my mums car whilst away in York and visited a cinema for three hours, parking in the retail park there where parking is free up to 4 hours usually. However on a match day (the football ground is there) it’s only 2 hours max unless you get validation from wherever you are visiting, then you get max 6 hours. (I stayed for 3)
So I asked when purchasing the cinema ticket and was given a paper QR coded separate ticket and told to scan it after the film on the machine outside and enter the cars number plate which I did.
Now mum has revived a penalty notice for £48 rising to £85 after 14 days the notice issue date 7th sept , letter received 16th sept.
I have contacted cineworld customer services twice now who won’t engage at all, I still have the paper cinema ticket and the paper QR code. I’m worried about the fine going up if they don’t remove it, should I get mum to say it was me driving so add a little more time or just despute it myself? Many thanks in advance.

Which parking firm? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

DO NOT LET YOUR MUM NAME THE DRIVER.
She appeals as keeper saying this:
I was not the driver and was not personally at the venue that day. I am aware that the driver did scan the QR code and used the cinema (his proof - cinema ticket - is attached but the driver will not be named so don't waste my time asking again). I am appealing as registered keeper. Your notice is non-POFA so you can't hold me liable and would lose at POPLA. Cancel the PCN.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
