Payment to Barclaycard missing

Has anyone ever had any issues with faster payments to Barclaycard not processing in the usual 2 hours?

I made a large payment yesterday via bank transfer, it’s not reflecting in my credit card available balance. My bank confirmed no block on the payment and it left the account to the correct sort code, account and reference. Barclaycard say no payments received and to wait 3 days.

Have made many payments over the years with no issues…

How could your bank confirm the reference was correct?

I would just wait the 3 days and then worry.

They confirmed the first 6 digits and the last 4 of the reference number and also confirmed the payee hasn’t been edited or changed since I paid them a few weeks ago.

is the reference a 16 digit numeric string with no letters/spaces/dashs/etc?

there is no way it will reflect in your credit card balance on the same day - it will process overnight

the faster payment would likely have been received within the two hours by the processing bank but then a batch program has to be run against that overnight to allocate it to credit cards using the reference number

When I pay my Barclaycard I normally trigger the payment via the barclaycard app so pull rather than push the payment.  It's normally shows on the app immediately as pending and is processed in a couple of hours. If paying to otter cards via my account I have seen it take a coupe of days.

When I pay my Natwest card off via my current accounts its showing as a pending transaction within 5 minutes. Depends if his credit card shows pending payments or not like Natwest do.

Yes is definitely 16 digits and can see the first 6 and last 4 are correct.

In all my years paying my Barclaycard the amount is reflected in my available credit within an hour or two max and shows in the pending part of the app.

Think I’ll stick to paying via the Barclaycard app with a debit card going forward.

If the money was returned the reference was wrong and they could not apply it

The returned payment had the reference number as the name of the payment (see screenshot). I definitely didn’t edit the reference when I sent the payment and if I had the NatWest app would have sent me a notification after saying the payee details were edited as used that payee many times before.
