Warmfront Cavity Insulation

My disabled Mum had cavity wall insulation installed free many years back under the Warmfront Scheme. The most exposed wall of her house has damp which we first believed was old pointing but now believe the cavity insulation is holding moisture.

The problem is, we have zero idea who the installers were and therefore can’t check if they were part of the trade body that covers work for 25 years.

it’s a long shot I know but does anyone know if there is a remnant organisation of Warmfront we can contact who might have the records of the work that was done and by whom?  Thanks in advance.

Can't help you with that but the installers were multiple and for walls I had no name, paperwork or guarantee.
I did for the loft insulation.

I had the problem that no warmth came through from the sun (unlike prior to installation) and the internal walls were cold unless heating was on.
Could it be lack of ventilation plus similar to above? Being inside a lot, windows closed.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Have you checked whether any guarantee was registered with CIGA.

Happy to start my own thread if thats the rules but I thought if I comment on one thats already here it might help everyone (including myself).

This cavity wall saga seems to be something that has been around for ages (although Im new to it so maybe someone can enlighten me also please??) My bungalow had this cavity insulation pumped into it when it was owned by someone else. I am adamant this is what's causing the damp areas where bridging has occurred. Ive checked with CIGA if I have a guarantee which I do and am now looking to pursue a resolution.

I was wondering if anyone has been through this and if they actually get anywhere? Im not after compensation just the damp being fixed (possibly by extracting the stuff) and dont feel it should be me who has to pay for it.

As said happy to start my own thread if needs be? Thanks in advance!

There is a facebook group called Damp Sam and on there a bloke called James Mcguigan posts  sometimes and offers to help people with enquiries about how to pursue cavity wall insulation battles with CIGA. He seems to know how to go about it and what to do and not to do. I think he fought a long and successful battle over damp caused by wall insulation. This is the group and if you scroll down to the end of August  you'll find his post and other comments about CWI...
