Carers allowance for unpaid intern?

Do you think it is possible?
im going through some treatment and it’s affecting me in different ways. I’m hoping it will be successfull I don’t know when the end will be. My niece has just graduated and has been a huge help cleaning, cooking, carrying shopping etc. I do claim pip. She has thankfully now got an unpaid internship except for £15 a day travel. She will still be living with me and helping it could come to 35 hours. Is it worth her claiming carers allowance? She was working in a bar but that will stop this week as it’s too much. Do you think she can claim it or will it be frowned upon?

Yes I am. The application says she has to send her last payslip. However she has had a pub job and is due her payslip soon before she finishes and starts the internship. The pay will be much higher from the pub so she wont qualify but then her pay will be zero. Im not sure really what to do.0

Unpaid internships are illegal, she should be paid at least minimum wage.
