Stuck in yellow box junction but road works to the right

Hello all! I hope someone can help
I got caught in a yellow box junction, the only reason I even went forward was because I'm not blocking anyone to the right as the road was closed due to roadworks, you can only drive straight or take a left. I've included the photo I got sent, do I have any grounds to appeal, or should I pay the fine?

Its nothing to do with the road works or traffic coming from the right. You ae going straight on and have entered the box before your exit out of it is clear.3
