Supply Teaching and Universal Credit

My girlfriend is struggling to find a permanent teaching job so is signing with an agency to do supply work.
Obviously, this can be hit and miss and varies so is she entitled to claim any kind of Universal Credit in addition to any supply income?

I think this might be better posted in the 'Benefits & Tax Credits' board instead of Employment as people there might be more au fait with this. It's not really anything to do with supply teaching, more so general low paid/irregular employment.
As far as I'm aware (and I'm no expert) Universal Credit is payable to anyone in a low income role and reduces from a certain point the more you earn.

If you live separately then it will be based on her circumstances only.
Benefits calculations based on different amounts of earnings would help her see what she might be entitled to (if anything).

UC is calculated based on actual earnings in a month so is responsive to fluctuating income.1
